There was once a snail who was sick and tired of his reputation for being so slow. He decided to get some fast wheels to make up the difference. After shopping around a while, he decided that a Porsche 911 convertable was the car to get. So the snail goes to the nearest Porsche dealer and says he wants to buy the Porsche 911,  but he wants it repainted "911-S".

Porsche first used turbo technology in 1975. In 1973, the first prototype of the Porsche Turbo was displayed at motors shows all over Europe. It had a 3.0 liter 260 bhp engine. It’s name, the Porsche Turbo 911.

Before the 550, the 356 was the race car for Porsche in 1953. Unfortunately, the 356 at that time was slower than their rivals. Their engineering came out with the 550. It was light in weight. It had two seats, aluminum body, tubular frame and an open top. They were racing only with Volkswagen. The initial pair of 550 dominated their class at Le Mans finishing one-two in the 1500cc division. Then, one of the two cars won its category in the famed Pan Americana Mexican road race.

Recent years have seen the evolution of racecars for street use. One of these automobiles is the Porsche Carrera GT 2005. Unofficially a racecar, this $440,000 power car is worth every bit its price with the quality of materials used and the way it was put together.
